HOW IT WORKS

The Secret Sauce...

We don't take these decisions lightly. Your game's MVP decision will be backed by our secret algorithm, created by professional cricketers and data scientists. Below are the five main factors that the algorithm uses to detect your MVP...

ACCELERATOR

Scoring runs quickly improves your team’s chances of winning. Restricting runs when you’re bowling swings it back. Each delivery is an event. A battle between bat and ball that ultimately speeds up or slows down the current run rate in the first innings and the required run rate in the second innings.

Of the deliveries you’ve faced with the bat, or bowled with the ball, did you relieve pressure on your team or pile more on?

ASSASSIN

Removing opposition batters ultimately swings momentum your team’s way. If wickets in the whole match have been hard to come by, the importance of each one of these scalps increases.

But, it’s not only the volume of wickets you take, but who it is that you remove. How much of an influence on the game were they making, before you rearranged their stumps?

ASSISTANT

Catches win matches, we all know that. For too long now, the “credit” of a skied steepler grabbed brilliantly on the boundary has gone to the bowler. We share the spoils for caught wickets between the bowler who has drawn the false shot and the catcher who held on and made no mistake.

As with the assassin, holding on to chances offered by batters who are more set than others, pulls more momentum your team’s way.

ACCUMULATOR

Everyone loves a fifty, but the importance of this in an absolute run fest is less than if all those around you have struggled. Simply put, who scored the largest proportion of the entire match’s runs, and ultimately contributed to the winning cause the most.

AGGRESSOR

The pluckiest of our algorithm ingredients, inspired by Bazball. When the chips are down and the odds are stacked against you, who counter punches most to turn the tide? After a period of hemorrhaging runs, an “against the run of play” maiden is much more vital than the seventh maiden in a row.

Likewise, a flurry of runs after a period of consolidation catapults your team into a better position and puts pressure back on your opponent.
